Surprisingly effective. Ive seen these used to remove smells from older / second hand cars before in videos, and was excited to give this a go. Its pretty effective at taking out the smells from a car with a short treatment. You do have to fully air the vehicle after though, and I found it to be very effective if I also combined it with an enzyme carpet cleaner to fully pull out the smells and improve the overall odour of the car and it was able to remove the dog smell that was in the car I had. I could see this being very helpful as part of a valeting service as a treatment. I did find the timer to be a bit odd and I could not set it to permanent on as per the instruction description, and it would only run on timed.

We bought a small Hyundai from a ‘reputable’ car reseller. The smell getting in the car when we test-drove it was overwhelming but the salesman told us that they all smell like that because it’s the upholstery cleaner they use and it would be gone in a couple of days. Not so! It’s been almost 2 years and it still smells like there has been a dead rat somewhere. I think the previous owners must have been smokers and didn’t care. I have tried bombs, fresheners and leaving the windows open for 48 hours but to no avail. Then came the Vicalo ozone generator. It’s smaller than I was expecting. It has a timer on the front and an on/off switch and that’s about it. No chemicals or filters. I put it in the car on an extension lead with all the windows closed and put it on for 20 minutes. It’s noisy like a fan and I left it. I came back to the car and there was a different funny smell but I then left the windows open for another 24 hours. The car no longer smells! It’s a miracle! We’ve tried everything else. Even a valet clean didn’t get the smell out. My only slightl concerns if for the environment. Pumping grams and grams of ozone into the air can’t be doing us much good but the car no longer smells so that’s OK isn’t it? In short - this really does work to get deep smells out of rooms/upholstery and, in our case, carpets. Recommended!!

I had no idea these type of things even existed. Used this recently in a car that someone has smoked in. Tried a number of ways to get rid of the smell but had no luck. Ran this for 10mins and then left the windows open for a while and ALL the smokers smell had completely gone. Even the car fabric which previously had a deep smoke smell was completely fine now! Was genuinely surprised at the effect of it. Would highly recommend for anyone trying to get rid of a smell be it from smokers, or pets, or from cooking.

I looked at few videos on YouTube to understand how it works and what are the things to keep in mind when using it. Very interesting and simple way of working apparently and I'm amazed at how effective it is. Since my flat has never had an ozone "cleanse", I've left mine turned on for about 15 minutes, and initially it was hard to bear with the bleach smell. Despite good airflow, I didn't manage to get rid of that smell for another 2-3 days however since then, that room has not held a smell at all. All fabrics in there smell absolutely fresh and some of them haven't been washed in a while. I was unaware of this technology and I can't recommend it enough. It feels magical. The one downside I found with this Ozone generator is that the timer is of poor quality. The instructions say that you can enable or disable the timer, i.e you can somehow disable it so that it runs indefinitely until you manually switch it off. When enabled, you should, of course, trust the timer so that when it reaches 0 it turns off the machine. As you can imagine that's a pretty important setting because you're meant to keep this thing on for very short periods of time and if you want to leave home whilst you let it work, you should be able to trust that the timer actually stops the unit when it reaches zero. Mine didn't, I had to set myself a separate timer and I gave it 5 extra minutes to give it leeway..it didn't stop on its own. There is no obvious way of enabling/disabling the timer, no extra button and pushing/pulling the knob does nothing. If the timer is set to zero, the unit doesn't work at all, so you are forced to use the timer even if you have it enabled or disabled. To summarise the problem: You are forced to use the timer but there's no way of knowing if the timer is enabled/disabled. If disabled, the unit will not stop on its own ,which is something you definitely don't want.

Ho comprato questo oggetto perché volevo abbattere i cattivi odori che risultano un po' difficili da smaltire quando si è fatto un uso intenso della cucina. Devo dire che ero un po' scettico, ma dopo averlo provato a fine di una serata abbastanza impegnativa, devo dire che ha svolto egregiamente il suo ruolo. Certo, l'odore dell'ozono può risultare sgradevole per qualcuno, ma basta areare un po' il locale e questo svanisce. L'ho utilizzato con ottimi risultati anche per scarpe e vestiti. Il timer permette di accenderlo ed attendere che si fermi da solo.
